Apparently needed. Oftentimes see complaints about how heavy a 24-70/2.8L is. So heavy that it apparently can't be used as a carry-around lens.
I giggle every time I see that comment. It's been my carry-around for 6 years.
If the commenter is 95 years old, OK, I can see that. But these are folks that are in their 30s-50s. Sheesh.
